Your 2015+ Mustang comes with a 185 lb/in clutch assist spring from the factory — a high-rate spring that causes a vague, disconnected clutch pedal feel. Because the pedal travels in a circular arc with the assist spring in the middle of that travel, the combination of a high spring rate and pedal motion creates a non-linear, sometimes confusing pedal feel that makes the clutch hard to modulate.

Removing the stock spring entirely makes the clutch too heavy for daily driving and can cause chatter/NVH, prevent the pedal from returning fully to stock position, and lead to slave cylinder seal leaks over time. Steeda's 35 lb/in Clutch Assist Spring completely replaces the factory 185 lb/in spring with a rate engineered for a more linear, predictable clutch pedal feel. Manufactured from piano wire for high tensile strength and minimal sag even after repeated use.
