No maintenance is required, and in a properly set up serpentine system, these bearings can be expected to last indefinitely. These bearings are not wear items, and it is not necessary to replace pulley bearings preemptively or as part of a maintenance routine. However, if a replacement bearing is necessary, these bearings are the ones to use. Each replacement bearing ships with a new spring clip. If a failed bearing is kept in service for a period of time, the heat and vibration from the failed bearing can ultimately damage the pulley bore.
