Underdrive Alternator Pulley
Our underdrive alternator pulleys are CNC-machined from certified 6061-T6 billet aluminum and black anodized for long-lasting surface protection. The face of the pulley is a machined-finish (silver) to match our billet idler pulleys. The pulleys are sized to maintain OEM alternator speed when used on 2003 and 2004 Mustang Cobras equipped with the Metco Motorsports Interchangeable Crank Pulley Kit.
An underdrive alternator pulley is generally recommended when using our +2 lb and larger crank pulley rings. We manufacture a specific underdrive pulley for each of the popular crank pulley ring sizes, as shown in the drop-down box. Please note that these pulleys are sized to maintain OEM alternator speeds, but applications and alternator characteristics may vary, and in the case of aftermarket or custom alternators specific size recommendations should come directly from your alternator supplier.
These alternator pulleys install as a direct replacements for the factory alternator pulley and require no modifications or special tools. A longer belt will be required. Please feel free to contact us for details if you need assistance properly sizing your belt.
With few exceptions, Metco Motorsports alternator pulleys are all machined (silver) on the forward face, and black anodized on the belt surface and rear surface. These alternator pulleys do not fit the Mechman, Nations, Denso, or J2 alternators. These pulleys are intended for the OEM 6G (and similar, ie 3G) alternator used in select Modular Ford applications. These are 8-rib pulleys.
